Dana Barak - Composer and Soloist

The Bridges Chamber Orchestra, Conductor - Harish Shankar

The artistic activities of versatile musician Dana Barak span her extensive career as a soloist, chamber musician and composer, bridging Middle Eastern and Western musical traditions. Recent engagements include performances as a soloist and as a recitalist, captivating audiences with a wide-ranging repertoire- from klezmer and contemporary music to classical works performed on historical instruments.

As both a clarinettist and composer, Dana Barak’s work has been featured in numerous radio programs. Her composition Wa Jehi le Achi for clarinet and chamber orchestra, as well as her trio album Tears of the Muses, showcase her unique artistic voice. The album, which includes her piece Suita Zeira, has been praised as “refined as well as eloquent and, above all, show a never diminishing enthusiasm- a contribution that is as original as it is valuable, far from any well-trodden paths.”

Her compositions have been premiered by prominent ensembles and musicians, most recently, by Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, at the Heidelberger Frühling Festival and in Casals Forum Kronberg featuring Dana Barak as a soloist.
